BTGALA LGBTQ Spring Lecture: Intersex Activist, Hida Viloria

Hida Viloria is a Latinx, gender fluid, intersex writer, activist, and author of the upcoming memoir, Born Both (January 2017, by Hatchette Book Group) who uses “s/he” and he/r” pronouns. S/he has advocated extensively for equal rights for intersex and non-binary people as a lecturer, consultant (IOC, UN, Human Rights Watch), on television, radio (Oprah, BBC, Aljazeera, HuffpostLive, 20/20), and film (Gendernauts, One in 2000, and Intersection), and in publications such as The Advocate, Ms., the American Journal of Bioethics, S/he continues to advocate for intersex and non-binary people as founder and Executive Director of the Intersex Campaign for Equality. Viloria has a degree in Gender and Sexuality from the University of California at Berkeley, and lives in Oakland, California.
