This afternoon topical session will delve into understanding ableism, learning about the particular challenges and concerns of LGBTQIA people who have disabilities, and helping participants learn how to be more effective allies to LGBTQIA members of our community with different abilities. This year’s Ally Project will be led by Sheltreese McCoy, social justice educator, consultant and president of RHedI, LLC.
The Ally Project is designed specifically for staff and faculty and is sponsored by the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) Center, LGBT Employee Resource Group, LGBT Task Force, Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity, Office of Human Resource, and Office of the Vice President for Campus Life. The mission of the Ally Project is to explore ways to better support lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) students and colleagues.
