BTGALA Event - Sounds of Liberation: Learning from Stonewall Activists Through Oral Histories

2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising in New York City, a watershed moment for the LGBTQIA rights movement. To celebrate and commemorate Stonewall and all that our queer and trans ancestors have had to face, join us for an audio gallery featuring voices of participants in the Stonewall riots, recorded by archivists at the NYC LGBT Community Center. Their stories will by juxtaposed with voices of Princeton LGBTQIA activists, drawn form the Princeton University LGBTQIA Oral History Project. Come listen, learn about and discuss this vital history for queer movements in the modern era.

Sponsored by Princeton BTGALA, the LGBT Center, and the New York City LGBT Community Center
